About Program

The Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC) is a full-time, 3-year undergraduate programme offered by the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Amrapali University. This programme aims at equipping students with all the necessary technical as well as behavioural skills that they need to communicate meaningful information to the general public with an in-depth social understanding.

As journalism is a fourth pillar of democracy and founded on truth, autonomy, and transparency, the curriculum of the programme is all-encompassing with a strong focus on both academic and practical orientation.

. It is designed in such a way that it prepares students to operate independently in different media setups making use of today’s ultra-sophisticated communication apparatuses. Some of the major components of the programme include fundamentals of mass communication, technological developments in journalism, current media trends and concerns, varied dimensions of print, electronic, and new-age media, and applications of technology in print, television, the internet, and radio communication.

For better practical exposure, the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication also organizes seminars, guest lectures, workshops, incubation and live projects regularly. The internship is also one of the most prominent features of the programme.
